Notice of Intended Marriage Meeting

Planning a wedding is exciting and many couples want to book their date before they meet with me.

Your Notice of Intended Marriage Interview or NOIM meeting must be at least one calendar month before your wedding date.

You will be asked to give your name, email and mobile number to book your interview, and you will get an email to confirm your interview appointment. The email will also allow you to easily reschedule or cancel your booking, if necessary.

Not from the Fraser Coast? If we are unable to meet in person to submit your Notice of Intended Marriage, I want to help.


First book a date to submit your NOIM from the calendar booking button above to plan your special day with me and we will communicate by email pr phone messages to arrange for your meeting to take place by Zoom, Skype, or any other socila media platform that is secure and available to us both.

What happens at your NOIM meeting ?

Your NOIM meeting takes around 60 - 90 minutes and includes:

  • Meeting online or in person to complete forms at least one calendar month or more before your marriage can take place.
  • View Your ID and documents:
  • If Australian born - your birth certificate and photo ID (passport, driver's licence, ID card) for each partner.
  • If born overseas - your passport is all you need for each partner!
  • Divorce papers or death certificate of any former spouse and Name Change Certifacate (if they apply to you).
  • If you do not have all of these documents available right now, that is ok.
  • We can still submit your NOIM, but you will need to produce any missing original documents before you are married.
  • Translated identity documents
  • For original documents that are not in English, you must also provide a translation from a translator accredited by:
  • The National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI).
  • Signing and lodgement of your NOIM - I will witness your signatures on this form for you.
  • Booking a date and time for your wedding and lock that into my diary, if we have not already done so.
  • Discussion about additional forms required to be signed and witnessed before and after your marriage ceremony.
  • Discussion about how to order your Official Marriage Certificate after your marriage.
  • Discussion about your required two witnesses and providing their names if possible.
  • Talking about any special requirements - wheelchair access, signing table and cloth, interpreter at the wedding,
  • I love pets at weddings!
  • Exploration of scripts from basic to fancy, and what exciting and beautiful ideas you want to include in your ceremony.
  • Exploration of venues such as beaches, parks, gardens, café’s, hotels, resorts, your place or mine..
  • Organising rehearsal dates and any follow up meetings if required.
  • Arrangement of audio and visual equipment and music if needed, including copyright information if it applies.
  • Discussion about how you would like me to dress for the occasion.. formal, casual, special colours etc.
  • Invoicing and payment options and procedures.
  • Payment for your NOIM meeting fee, which counts as your non refundable deposit on your marriage and wedding. (currently $90)

Planning your ceremony

When you can book a ceremony date, we will need to discuss your plans at least one calendar month before. If you can't speak and understand English, you need to have someone present who can translate for you.

If you host your ceremony at my place I can offer you:

  • Generous waiting areas for your guests.
  • Access to a private dressing room before your ceremony.
  • Access to amazing photo opportunities.
  • Integrated sound system for music and mics.
  • Live streaming of your ceremony on request.
  • Video and photos of your ceremony posted to a cloud folder with link access provided. (may incur a videographer fee)

I also have an extensive range of venue ideas and wedding suppliers that I am happy to share with you.

The cost for a wedding ceremony includes:

  • The ceremony conducted in accordance to your wishes,
  • Me as your celebrant, dressed for the occasion as per your desire,
  • If conducted at my place - the ceremony room and/or garden.
  • A ceremonial marriage certificate.
  • The cost of your ceremony does not include an official marriage certificate, if you wish I can order this for you and pass on the fee to you.
  • Use of my audio equipment for the ceremony (at the reception by negotiation).
  • To secure a time and date for your ceremony in my diary, you will need to pay the applicable deposit/fee at your NOIM meeting.
  • The balance of your wedding fee, and official marriage certificate plus postage fee if applicable, is due the day before your wedding.

How you can pay:

  • I will accept cash but and also have contactless payments such as SQUARE or credit card at my customer service centre by credit card,
  • Direct Bank Transfer to my account - ask me for the BSB and Account Number.
  • With a business account cheque.
  • With a bank cheque.
  • With a money order through the mail within Australia.
  • By credit card in person or via my online portal from overseas by credit card or PayPal.
  • I do not accept personal cheques or cheques issued from outside Australia (in any currency).
  • Make Australian-drawn cheques and money orders payable to Mr R H Cruickshank and see my contact page for the postal address if needed.

I, celebrant Ronald Cruickshank, in conjunction with The Department of Justice and Attorney-General, The Registry of Births Deaths and Marriages, and *vCita online bookings, will be collecting your personal information for the purpose of facilitating your interview booking online and for contacting you in relation to your booking and the registration of your marriage. Your personal information will not be used or disclosed for any other purpose, or to anyone else without your permission, unless authorised by you, or required by law. Your personal information will be handled in accordance with the provisions of the Information Privacy Act 2009.
